Busting Into Mom Life

I’m what they call “a busy body”.  I enjoy down-time on occasion, but I’d rather be doing an activity. You know, something ‘productive;’ so when I was 38 weeks pregnant, people were asking me how I was going to cope being on maternity leave for 6 months. Understandable question though, as I had just graduated with Honours from the Business Marketing program at College, while working full-time. Nevertheless my response was “wonderful!” I told people that raising our little one would be enough to keep me busy and boy, was I right!

I switched out studying, projects & essays for diapers, feedings, playtime & research on baby developmental milestones. Not to mention, the 1000 wardrobe changes our little baby needed, as she would mysteriously wet herself, even though her diaper was still on. I like to call her our little Houdini!
You know it’s amazing how quickly my days go by now.

As a snapshot, this was part of my afternoon on Friday:
11:00am – drive to Walmart to get printer ink
11:45am – arrive back home with printer ink & set up printer
11:55am – feed “the monster”
12:30pm – stop feeding “the monster”, change diaper, pack up baby & puppy in car to drive husband to school
12:50pm – drop off husband & off to post office to pick up package
1:10pm – pick up package & off to library
1:15pm – arrive at library & take puppy & baby for walk
1:50pm – finish walk & drive home
2:00pm – arrive home & make lunch for husband to bring with me upon pickup
2:20pm – lunch packed & feed “the monster” again, change diaper again
2:45pm – leave to pick up husband; baby & puppy in car
3:00pm – arrive to pick up husband & off to drop him off at work (while he eats his lunch in the car)

And that was only 4 hours! Oh how quickly that went!

I’m busting into Mom life & I wouldn’t have it any other way! I’ve always wanted to be a good Mom & a great wife! To me, it’s the best ‘job’ in the world! Although my days go by quickly, I try my best to take a moment to cherish the little things; whether it’s holding her in my arms, calming her down when she’s crying or being silly to make her smile. It helps to find quiet time in the hustle-bustle of a busy lifestyle. May you find the time to do the same!
