Who doesn’t love a warm chili on a cold winter day? This recipe is simple to throw together and a great way to have a healthy, hearty meal while tending to a little one!
Prep time: 20 mins Bake time: 4 – 6 hours
2 jalapenos, diced **optional
1 pound of ground beef
3/4 cup celery, diced
1/2 cup green onions, diced
1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced
1 can dark red kidney beans, drained
1 can chickpeas, drained
1 can tomato paste, small
1 can diced tomatoes, large
2 tbsp chili powder
2 tbsp cajun seasoning
2 tsp garlic salt
1 tsp garlic plus seasoning
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- Place ground beef in frying pan and cook until brown. Drain excess liquid.
- Once cooked, place ground beef in slow cooker and add rest of ingredients, stirring occasionally.
- Once ingredients are mixed well, cover mixture & cook on High for 4 – 6 hours.
Serve hot with sweet potato crackers, tortilla chips or any cracker of your choice!
