Wow! Being a mom for the first time is amazing!! I LOVE every minute of it! But that doesn’t mean it’s easy! Oh goodness… it takes a lot of work and patience!
I always believed I was a patient person, but motherhood has really made me step my game up prior to motherhood (and our daughter is only 8 weeks old).
She kicks her boot or sock off after being put back on for the 20th time; poops or pees in her diaper right after a diaper change, but waits until I’ve put all her clothes back on and have taken 2 steps away from the change table. Then there’s my favourite game : trying to figure out what her cries mean!
Here’s the options (so far):
- I’m hungry
- Change my bum
- I’m gassy
- I’m overstimulated (playing with toys for too long)
- I’m too hot / cold
- I just want to be held
- Get me out of this contraption (usually her swing)
It’s amazing what she can teach me at such a young age, especially since I’ll keep guessing until I’ve got it right. Then comes the task of remembering what the cry sounded like so I can skip right to the problem to make her happy quicker!
I like to think of it as “dance puppets dance”. She’s got me wrapped around her little finger!
One day there will be no guessing anymore as our little angel will be able to tell me what’s wrong in a heartbeat! With that being said, I’m enjoying this stage of motherhood & would love to hear about your adventures as well!
